It’s up to you! Contrary to what many think, formal wear is not required. Business casual is common. Concert goers dress in suits, sweaters and khakis. Wear what’s comfortable.

• Applause is a greeting and shows appreciation to the artists. Traditionally, patrons applaud when the concertmaster takes the stage and again to greet the conductor and any soloists. 


• Musical works often have three or more movements (sections), as noted in the program. During the short pause between each movement, it’s customary to refrain from applauding. After the final movement, we encourage applauding to your heart’s content.


• Still not sure? Clap when the conductor turns around or steps off the podium. Or wait until the rest of the audience begins clapping!

Children four years of age and older are welcome at all performances with a purchased ticket. Youth symphony and children’s concerts are perfect for children under six.

Concert length varies, with most performances lasting about two hours, including one intermission.

Yes. There is one 15-minute intermission. Feel free to use the restroom and stretch your legs.

The Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra performs mainly classical pieces, but we throw in a twist of pop-oriented pieces to keep things fresh, innovative and fun. There’s always something for the whole family to love.
