FROM SHEBOYGAN TO CARNEGIE HALL

March 16, 2025 | 3:00pm

The Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, in collaboration with MidAmerica Productions, proudly presents From Sheboygan to Carnegie Hall and Back, dedicated to the memory of Peter Tiboris. Led by Conductor Matthew Harden and Chorus Director Wilhelmina Nelmes Vogtle, this performance features Verdi’s Overture to La Forza del Destino, Rutter’s Requiem, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. Regional Wisconsin choirs will also join this memorable event.

All ticket sale proceeds benefit the Sheboygan Symphony Chorus for their trip to Carnegie Hall in May, when they will perform under the baton of famed choral composer Sir John Rutter.

Experience the grandeur of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 featuring pianist Fanya Lin, who wowed our audience in 2023, and Sibelius’ Nordic opus, Symphony No. 2, in SSO’s blockbuster Season Finale. Embark on a journey through the captivating soundscape of German-American Ingrid Stölzel’s City Beautiful as it opens the program.

The Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra was formed in 1918 and is the longest continually active community-based professional orchestra in Wisconsin. The Sheboygan Symphony Chorus was founded in 1994, and The Sheboygan Symphony Youth Orchestra was formed in the 1980s.
