SSO program offers the opportunity

Many symphony orchestra patrons have wondered what it would be like to enjoy the concert on stage where the music happens.

Now they will have their chance.

The Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra is offering the Guest Orchestra Member Program that will allow music lovers to get the very best seat in the house — on stage with the musicians.

A $500 tax-deductible gift to the orchestra will guarantee participation in the Guest Orchestra Member Program for either the Feb. 4 or March 10 concert. Up to four guests will be highlighted on stage for each concert.

The Feb. 4 concert will focus on the classics and offers an evening of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. Guest artist Li-shan Hung will perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5.

The music of popular American composer John Williams will be showcased at the March 10 concert. The symphony's concertmaster, Debbie Williamson, will be featured as soloist. Some of the pieces that will be heard in the program are highlights from "Jurassic Park," "The Raiders March from Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Star Wars Suite."
