Laurence Albert's operatic performances include engagements with theaters throughout Europe and the United States; most notably the Paris Opéra (Bastille), TMP Châtelet, Oper Frankfurt, Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, Musiktheater im Revier, Vest Norges Opera, Opera Ireland, Ensemble Théâtre, Opera Memphis, and the Opera Theatre of St. Louis.
Laurence Albert has performed under the direction of conductors such as, Gary Bertini, Mung-Whun Chung, Lawrence Foster, Margaret Hillis, Eliahu Inbal, Henry Lewis, Ben Makino, Robert Moody, Kent Nagano, John Nelson, Cosima Sophia Osthoff, Henri Pompidor, Joel Revzen, Robert Shaw, William Skoog, Leonard Slatkin, Mark Tardue, Bernard Thomas, Kai Tietje, Franco Trinca, and Rudolf Werthen.
Laurence Albert’s recitals in Bulgaria, Canada, Iceland, and South Africa; and throughout England, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the United States, have delighted audiences and have received excellent critical attention, as well.
Laurence Albert, national winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the International Concours de Chant de Paris, the International Concours Tryptique de Paris, and the Franz Schubert Institut of Austria, holds degrees in Music Performance from Morehouse College, and the St. Louis Conservatory of Music.
He is Assistant Professor of Music at Tougaloo College, in Tougaloo, Mississippi.
